The Task Is massive and massive But It Is Our Calling to Look After the Environment Responsibly!

What do you do when you think areas of the world to which you may never have given a second thought, and you may know small or nothing about these areas and the population who live there?

It is also critical to remember that we cannot be involved in all everywhere!

News From Maldives

Some of us have been asked to think praying for a few areas where the poverty of the population seldom makes the newspaper headlines. It is a absorbing exercise.

Matana in the country of Burundi is gradually recovering from twelve years of violent warfare. I had to look up Burundi just to refresh my memory and I have been in the countries not far away of Uganda and Kenya over these past six years.

In parts of Burundi there is a degree of strengthen and some harvests have tripled in size since working together began. The church of Jesus Christ in Burundi has played a major role in this measurable progress.

Honduras was another place I just had to check on to make sure I knew the location of that nation. The encouraging work of the Church of Jesus Christ there has been inspiration in helping the local peoples to make unavoidable vital improvements.

I was then directed to another critical situation in Bengal, India, where a woman had been tricked into prostitution. She felt trapped and scared and hopeless. Now, this is much an environmental issue as carbon footprints and icecap warming.

This woman's environment was aided by practical counselling and healthcare which gave her the power and quality find a way out of prostitution. These are weighty problems for all those involved.

Storms in Guatemala have cause chaos and havoc and some eighteen months after the devastation workers continue to pour their energies into restoring the damage and repairing the environment.

Governments have such a crucial role to play in these countries where suffering is weighty and where disease is rampant. In various nations the church of Jesus Christ has been encouraging local leaders to stand as Councillors and even think standing for Parliament. This is not easy because of tribal customs and tribal loyalties.

When discussing this particularly with able leaders in Kenya, these matters were mentioned as very real high hurdles which would have to be overcome, but with the help of Almighty God it is possible.

Men of integrity with vision and laudable goals and aims could do much to improve the environment in a comparatively short period, given the reserve of those in all the local churches.

When inspecting these political and moral issues, the plight of the road children come to mind. Think of their appalling environment as they live in holes in the ground or find a tunnel beside hot pipes.

Healthcare and feeding and a safe place to wash are all so critical for these boys and girls, and that is only the beginning of the weighty challenge.

Our God created this world and he expects us to be responsible stewards of His creation. We are called to look after the environment and take care of the environment! The task is immense.

Are You curious In Ocean Conservation?

Ocean conservation is the security of the ocean and sea environment, namely from man made intervention. The oceans and seas are vulnerable to the advancement of the human race. The ocean is also susceptible to man made pollution.

The fish and other water animals are susceptible to man's desire for food. Men also hunt fish and other water animals for sport thus harming the delicate water ecosystems. For many centuries, man has taken benefit of the oceans and seas, but there are some organizations that want to conserve the ocean.

News From Maldives

There are many ways to help conserve the oceans and the seas. For instance, scuba divers can be trained to be more environmentally known when they visit the oceans and the seas. They should treat coral reefs with care and respect because the coral reefs of practically all oceans are being damaged by humans who whether intentionally or unintentionally break the coral apart. Coral reefs are an leading part of the ocean's ecosystem and are being subjected to man made pollution which breaks down the coral structure. Once coral is destroyed it is difficult to grow back and thus many creatures in the ocean that rely on coral are susceptible to extinction.

Conservation also involves security of nautical wildlife such as dolphins. The fishing commerce relies on contemporary methods to capture as many fish at one time in order to increase profits. The nets that are used to catch tuna fish also trap dolphins.

The tuna commerce is supposed to take the time and make the effort to check all catches and clear their nets of dolphins from their nets. But some tuna fishing boats ignore this requirement and allow dolphins to be processed with the tuna that is caught in their nets. It is difficult to regulate and monitor the tuna commerce because there are exiguous resources available and not all tuna fishing boats can be watched as they make their catches.

Offshore oil drilling is a danger to the oceans and the seas. The world relies on oil and the fact that there is a multitude of crude oil off the shore of many countries makes offshore drilling very profitable for oil output companies. But it takes only one mistake to cause an environmental disaster.

Oil leaking from an offshore oil rig will kill all the creatures in the area of the leak. The oil will wash up on shore and destroy the delicate ecosystems along the shore. The oil will trap and kill nautical life such as birds, dolphins, seals, and any other vertebrate that is unfortunate adequate to be affected by the oil spill. Every person who cares about the environment should be interested in ocean conservation.

Guide to Powering Your Home With Solar Power

Most of our power comes from burning fossil fuels, this creates a lot of pollution. The other problem with fossil fuels is that they are swiftly running out, some experts have suggested that within 50 years our supplies of fossil fuels will of run out. That would cause huge problems for generating power and running vehicles. One of the best alternative methods of generating power so far is solar power.

Solar power is so good because it's reliable, clean and doesn't cause any pollution. These panels obtain sunlight and convert the suns power into electricity. This sunlight can be used in a whole of distinct situations, be it factories or homes. Solar panels are suitable for market and secret use.

News From Maldives

Reasons Why We Need Solar Energy

We have been dependant on fossil fuels for over a hundred years and few population have stopped to reconsider what it's doing to the environment. As a consequent we are now experiencing global warming and pollution. It's only now that renewable forms of power are being sought, and this is plainly because the reserves are running out. Solar power is one of the most beloved forms of alternative energy.

The sun is very powerful, just so you understand how considerable it is the power which is in case, granted by the sun for a singular hour is adequate to power the world's electricity for a whole year. The sun is a marvelous and considerable resource which won't run out for a very long time to come. These renewable forms of power are vital to the future of the modern generation.

Residential Uses Can Win Big with Solar Energy

Solar power isn't just for market use, secret homes can advantage from using solar power. Homeowners can apply their roofs to capture power to convert into electricity. This means that you don't have to use any extra land as you already have some space ready that you're not using.

My beloved part of installing solar power systems is that any excess power you're not using can be sold back to your utility company. This will sacrifice your electricity bill even when you're not using solar power.

There are many distinct inviting applications for solar power. They are ordinarily seen on street lights, school crossing lights, and even traffic control systems. It's potential to power large gates and doors using solar power which saves the need to dig trenches and install cables.

Many developing countries have also benefited from using solar power as it can be difficult to get power to these locations. Lots of companies are working to make solar power an even more viable alternative to fossil fuels.

The impact on the environment is one issue, but we also have to worry about preservatives that are used to keep this apple nice and crispy during its very long journey to your grocery store. To keep furnish fresh during the long haul over continents and oceans, furnish companies have to use chemical preservatives. It is well documented that preservatives are hazardous to human health.

So what can we do? Well, you can try your best to buy local furnish whenever possible. Even though America has lost more than 5 million farms (Usda figures) since 1935, there are still many farmers who have generated markets for themselves in the cut throat world of global competition.

Since furnish from your local farms are traveling very short distances there is less pollution created in their transport. There is also less containers and processing complicated which also helps to lessen the estimate of garbage we put into the environment and ourselves!

There is hope. Many small farms surrounding suburban communities or urban city centers have weekly or daily farmers' markets. These markets associate regional small farmers with suburban and urban dwellers. Check to see if there is a market like this in your community. Often times the cooperative sponsoring the market can't afford to spend a lot on advertising so you've got to quest out their location. Try your local firm revising association or municipal office to see if they might be able to help.

It genuinely is enjoyable to mix up your food shopping habit by purchasing your fresh furnish and meats at your local farmers' market. In many cases you can negotiate prices (which is fun). I also find your fellow shoppers are commonly in a happier frame of mind when they're perusing farmer's booths than when they're steering a shopping cart through crowded aisles at the grocery store.
If you're like me and treasure the rural areas surrounding your urban region, then you also likely feel the sense of sadness each time a farm is sold for yet an additional one residential or commercial development. Here's your opportunity to do your bit to save the "family farm" (and help curb urban sprawl).

Home Ethanol output And What Is involved

The words home ethanol production is creating a buzz all of the Usa, because of fears of fuel shortages and price increases, plus global warming and pollution, population are getting more interested in home ethanol production. One thing to take into notice with the production of ethanol, is safety, so it would be a good idea to get as much information as you can before starting. If your intention is to run your car on it you will probably need to check ethanol conversion kits. Relating to

Home Ethanol Production:

News From Maldives

Home ethanol production is considered vital a major deal in the renewable energy debate, and in regards to the issue of homespun ethanol production, there are some facts that should certainly be known relative to an acre of Us corn compliance practically 7,100 pounds of grain for processing into 328 gallons of ethanol; the energy economics get worse at the processing plants, where the grain is crushed and fermented, as many as three distillation steps are needed in order to detach the 8% ethanol from the 92% water. When adding up the energy costs of grain production and its following conversion to ethanol, it has been found that 131,000 Btus are needed in order to be able to make just 1 gallon of ethanol; one gallon of ethanol only has an energy value of 77,000 Btu, which is considered as being clearly not good.

Possible negatives with ethanol production:

Figures show that Us grain production today erodes the top soil about 12 times faster than it can be reformed or replaced, with irrigated grain using groundwater 25% quicker than it can be naturally be substituted by rain etc. If you add to these figures that corn ethanol costs practically .74 a gallon to produced, in comparison to the 94 cents per gallon that gasoline costs, its clear that more investigation is required before committing more and more remorses to ethanol production.

Therefore, there are so many questions with regards to the production of ethanol and the environment and with regards to life in general, as to either or not ethanol is the allowable choice as renewable energy source; there are certainly so many confident factors that stem from it, and yet many negative ones as well, and so this is a matter which is practically certainly going to take some serious time and notice to accurately figure out. However, there are some top-notch fantastic population in the world who are seeing intimately into the ethanol situation at this moment, this will also include home ethanol production, and so we can rest assured in knowing that the qoute will be taken care of properly.

How Is Rubber Mulch Made?

Almost any tire can be recycled, including passenger car tires (cars, motorbikes, buses and even airplanes) and industrial trucks and trailers. So you can dream that the estimate of these tires that cannot be reused because they are too worn down, or suffered irreparable damage is phenomenal.

First of all the rubber recycling process involves the range of these discarded tires. Tires left on landfill sites or burn harm the environment, so a much good way is to recycle this abundance of rubber. A whole host of new markets have opened up recently to make good use of this rubber, one being the tire mulch industry. Recycling rubber tires not only helps the environment, but the cheaper too, as citizen need to be employed for the recycling process of rubber.

News From Maldives

To make tire mulch the rubber from tires needs to be made into a granular substance, with all the steel and other fiber removed. The whole process is called devulcanization. The tires need to be shredded, and then they are passed through the devulcanization process, which means the rubber does not lose its desirable properties of elasticity and insulation - valuable elements of tire mulch used for playground surfaces, landscapes and equine surfacing.

The rubber has to be treated with heat, chemicals and softening agents to keep these elasticity and insulation properties, so that the tire mulch can be used for its intended purposes. It takes time and expertise to get this process just right.

As I have already mentioned, this is a great way to recycle a common waste product, which left in its current state is very harmful to the environment. So make sure if you have any discarded tires, you get them to a recycling facility. After all, there are only so many tires that you can make into tire swings, or 'interesting' places to plant flowers in!

How the Desalination Process Can Be Harmful to the Environment

Desalination is a recipe or process that works to remove extra salt and harmful minerals from a body of water. A water purifier is one of the most efficient ways to perform the desalination process.

Why would person even want to desalinate water in the first place? The main theorize is to convert salt water to fresh water for drinking. There is a slow and steady water shortage taking place in many areas colse to the world and scientists are finding at inherent ways to convert salt water to freshwater to eliminate draining water from reserves.

News From Maldives

Water purifiers perform in a way in which they have a screen or filter theory that removes minerals, salt and other harmful chemicals out of the water so one is able to drunk it safely. The average water filter needs to be changed once a month or more depending on the frequency of use and how many impurities lie in the water source.

Utilizing desalination is harmful to the environment in many ways, the most being that water can be drained from the ocean and then used for human consumption. One idea that many environmentalists were discussing was to get water from the great lakes and other fresh water sources but the great lakes are facing their own qoute with lowered lake levels due to the atmosphere changing. Not only is there a water shortage within the great lakes area, taking water from these areas would endanger many animals that rely on the great lakes as their habitat. Fish, birds and even four legged animals would suffer a immense blow if these bodies of water were reduced or taken away.

The desalination process has also proven to be a pricey one. It can cost millions of dollars to couple a desalination machine into a body of water or near one. The desalination process can be time piquant as it takes days to turn 100% salt water into fresh water. Most times there is still a trace of minerals, salt and by waste still in the water, making the process having to be repeated which runs the cost of the process skyrocketing due to more labor and time complex in completing the desalination process.

Removing salt and contaminates from drinking water is something that has been sought after for decades, but finding a way to faultless the process while not affecting the environment negatively as well as remaining cost efficient at the same time has proved to be a daunting process. When the main idea is tweaked to be able to allow for a more cost efficient solution, desalination will be a victorious and even life recovery procedure.

containers Inventions That Save Lives

I just returned from speaking at an invention show on how to package your invention to sell. I saw a lot of great, innovative products that had a lot of merit. Some of them could become the next, new, "hot" consumer product. However, what struck me the most was that everyone focused on what they were developing not whether it would request for retrial to the consumer. They seemed to even ignore a consumer need for their product.

I watched American originator while I was in away and that same judgment was reinforced. Citizen invented things that had literally no store possible whatsoever. Not matter how clever, catchy or innovative the packaging might be to lure the consumer into the purchase, it can't save these inventions from an unmitigated disaster.

News From Maldives

It got me to mental about unfulfilled or unmet needs of the consumer. These are needs that we all face -- whether we know it or not. How does the package play a role in satisfying a consumer need or creating consumer satisfaction?

Look at the growth of the prepared or ready to eat market. All these new food products have been industrialized because the packaging allows the product to be created. Without the package, the product couldn't even exist. The consumer's lack of time is a major unfulfilled need and consumer goods clubs are creating products that address that demand

Take an everyday item such toothpaste. Where would we be without the package? Consumers never even think about why that product package was created and how it works to include and dispense the product while retention it sanitary. The toothpaste tube fulfilled a need.

The next great wave of packaging innovation/inventions will come from problems not yet resolved or ones that haven't hit the consumer awareness button. Be aware of issues such as protection and integrity of the products we buy and consume. Look at all the new flourish of product recalls and contamination issues: pet food, peanut butter, common everyday items that could kill you or your pet. Are consumers getting worried and paying attention? You bet! Just from the pet food issue alone there has been a slow down of pet food sales and an onslaught of Citizen manufacture homemade pet food.

Getting back to toothpaste, have you read about the Chinese counterfeit toothpaste that is here in the Us? It's quite unavoidable (according to what I saw in the news) that by seeing at the packaging (misspellings and so on) that it's not a legitimate product (that is only unavoidable if you read the package, of course). The warning signals are there for the consumer to see. But what if the packaging looks general and the product inside is contaminated? In the next wave of innovation, the package may tell us if the product is bad, contaminated or counterfeit. Seriously, the package may talk, convert colors, or do a myriad of other things to clue the consumer to be wary.

A packaging business just sent me this unbelievable statistic. "Product tampering at the retail level is growing at more than 13 percent each year." That's scary. So, what is your packaging innovation that could nip that in the bud or prove that the product had been tampered with before the consumer purchased it? That is a huge an unmet need. It is an prominent one because most consumers don't identify until it's too late. Remember the Tylenol poisonings? That created havoc, after the fact. It created a whole new class of product packaging "tamper-evident."

So think about hereafter consumer issues. product protection is going to continue to grow. We have just seen the starting of the consumer's awareness to it. Can you generate a packaging innovation that will inspire trust and generate peace of mind? Think about the untapped store possible and occasion for the next packaging invention that can save lives.

Colorado Springs, Recycling a question That Could Be Solved

Colorado Springs needs help to heighten their recycling efforts and junk extraction practices. At first glimpse Colorado Springs would appear to be one of the "greenest" places in the country because all the natural beauty that surrounds the area. However despite the natural beauty, Colorado Springs has one of the worst track records in the nation for recycling.

Colorado Springs ranked 98th in the nation agreeing to a Men's condition magazine article. The junk extraction practices and recycling efforts in this city are some of the worst in the nation. The good news is simple changes can be made to make your junk extraction and disposal environmentally friendly.

News From Maldives

The benefits of recycling could be in fact facilitated but also profitable. There is no fancy for Colorado to be lagging behind the rest of the nation, especially in an area with such natural environmental beauty.

Household Junk removal- recycling practices for Colorado Springs:

Junk extraction companies have practices in place, whereby nearly 70 percent of their junk extraction loads are recycled or donated and is willing to help residents come to be educated. Nearly anything metal can be recycled- papers magazines and cardboard as well can be taken to the recycling facility. Plastics and glass can be separated and recycled.

Items of worth from a junk extraction can be donated to such institutions as Goodwill Enterprises and Salvation Army. Tires can be ground down and used for road construction. Computers and computer monitors can be taken apart, to gain clear high-priced metals and the dangerous components disposed of properly. Basically everything has a home when your junk extraction is done correctly. It is up to residents to educate themselves or call a Colorado Springs junk extraction assistance that will ensure your junk extraction and junk disposal is done with the most efficient environmental amiable recycling practices in place.

Colorado Springs building Debris Removal:

Construction Debris is one of the bigger recycling disasters in play today. Typically new home building will originate any tons or more of debris that is dumped in landfills. building companies could in fact implement changes to their disposal methods that would divert seventy percent of this debris away from landfills.

In the framing stage of construction, a wood only dumpster should be used where nothing but untreated lumber scraps are settled into the container. As soon as this is filled the dumpster should be recycled for the wood. In different areas the rates for disposing strictly wood can be much economy than co-mingled building debris. The drywall should be ground down and settled back in the soil. It is in fact useful for the soil. Cardboard from appliance boxes and fixture packaging could be recycled as well. Aluminum siding scraps can be recycled for a profit along with copper wire pieces.

These debris extraction practices could divert 60 to 70 percent of building debris from entering the landfill. A third of what enters the landfill is building debris. 70 percent of which does need to be there. If you look at the cumulative follow of this, it is outrageous that there are not laws on the books requiring building companies to make a change in their practices especially when regular households are thinkable, to make changes.

Business Recycling and Junk Removal:

Business in Colorado could significantly reduce their trash loads by enforcing more paper recycling. Papers can be recycled and sensitive material shredded. Paper recycling is the easiest way to heighten a businesses track record. They should also ensure that E-Waste is taken to proper recycling or disposal facilities in Colorado Springs because it is one of the most dangerous of the toxic offenders to landfills. Colorado Springs can follow some simple junk extraction and disposal practices that could dramatically change their environmental record.

It's official - Nasa State Unpredictable Solar Storms Are Going to attack Earth From 2010 to 2012

Nasa has officially confirmed that for the next few years we will see a huge increase in solar storms directly from the Sun. These solar winds should start this year, and last well into the year 2012. What are the five inherent effects of a solar storm?

After a team of experts met at the Space Weather business Forum in Washington Dc, and discussed the effects of pending solar storm activity. This consulation focused more on the defense of our satellite and transportation systems, and looking a way to monitor each new storm as it reaches Earth from the Sun.

News From Maldives

Dr Fisher the current head of Nasa's Heilophysics department was quoted to have said during this groundbreaking meeting, "We are taking this very seriously indeed.," and commented on how Nasa are monitoring inherent winds advent from the sun, with their own group of satellites- creating an early warning law of sorts. But he did add a series of experts are going to start coordinating a response to any impending storm activity.

Here are five inherent effects of any solar storm attack from the Sun:

Our planet has a ring of satellites that have been in space since the Usa, and Russia started a space race in the early 1950's. Some of these satellites have now become "Space Junk," but others allow us to watch live televised events, call from our mobile phones, use a Gps systems, entrance the internet., and even trip by air.

Solar flares could damage or destroy these satellites, and adversely corollary how we live on the ground. The same group of experts who met in Washington, discussed the urgent need to safe these satellites from the increased vaporing storm winds from the Sun.

2. The corollary on military Satellites

It has been no secret that some satellites floating above us in space are strictly for military use. We are unaware if these satellites are armed or not, but we know they are also used to help the military monitor countries on the ground. Could solar storms damage, destroy or cause some malfunction in these satellites?. It is a possibility, and we may wonder what damage this may bring.

3. A temporary age of power blackouts?

Solar storms can knock out and burn out electrical transformers that are indispensable to maintaining our power grids. Once knocked out or" fried" by the radiation from a storm, they have to be substituted in order to re-start our electrical systems. Depending on the velocity of the storm, electrical power could be knocked out for hours, days, weeks, months or in a worse case scenario- years.

4. beautiful but cruel auroras

Once a solar storm hits earth an aurora, similar to the Northern and Southern lights will appear at night. This beautiful but cruel cosmic sound and light show is a prelude to our electrical grids being hit by radiation from the storm.

5. Air Disasters

Once a solar storm hits our atmosphere, anyone electrical in space or in our own skies, could be adversely affected. Aircraft could lose their power, whilst Gps systems become distorted with the falling radiation. A mild storm may not work on us, but stronger storms could hit aircraft, satellites and space craft, leading to airspace becoming a no-fly zone.

We cannot attack a solar storm, just as we cannot attack strong winds or rains. Space weather is a fact of life, which we have to get used to, and just as we get forewarned about impending hurricanes, we do have a satellite called, "Ace," that forewarns us of any impending storm. Giving us time to prepare for the on-coming storm. Yet the only real defense against a storm, is to shut down our power grids, satellites and close down airspace until the storm passes.

What happens in the universe does work on what happens to us here on Earth. And for years the effects of solar flares have led to many doomsday movies and imaginative works of science fiction. Yet this is all speculative, as even our own experts freely admit - no one is authentically sure what the final results of these incoming storms will bring, except the fact storm season is ever closer.

It's official - Nasa State Unpredictable Solar Storms Are Going to attack Earth From 2010 to 2012

Love Canal - A City Built On A Toxic Dump

An area in Niagara Falls, New York was turned into a chemical and municipal disposal site by Hooker Chemical in 1920. Thirty-three years later the disposal site was full. The business used relatively modern means to cover it. They sealed the dump with a thick coating of water-resistant red clay, hoping that it would preclude any chemicals from leaking from their landfill.

Shortly thereafter a colse to city wanted to buy the dumpsite in order to expand. Hooker cautioned against it but ultimately sold the site for one dollar. The business said it couldn't sell it for more because they didn't want to make a profit form a scheme that they belief was so unwise.

News From Maldives

When the city began digging to build a sewage principles they damaged the red clay that sealed the dumpsite. Nonetheless, a school and several blocks of housing were built. They called the neighborhood Love Canal.

Except for the smell, all about Love Canal seemed pretty normal. But the smell was terrible. Strange odors ordinarily permeated the air. These odors probably emanated from the unusual seepage that a lot of the homeowners found in their yards and basements.

Then children in the area started to get ill and the families that lived there experienced birth defects and miscarriages.

An activist, Lois Gibbs, began to document the high occurrence of birth defects and illnesses in the area. In 1978, the existence of the chemical waste dump was revealed by the newspapers. Gibbs soon began to appeal that the school should be closed.

After a neighborhood child became a victim of chemical poisoning the school was ordered ended by the Nys condition department in August of that year.

Subsequent study established that in excess of 130 pounds of Tcdd - a highly toxic carcinogen, which is a type of dioxin - was found.

The 20,000 tons of waste in the landfill consisted mostly of refuse from chemical weapons study and residues from pesticides. The waste contained almost 250 distinct kinds of chemicals.

These chemicals had already found their way into the yards, homes, creeks and sewers of Love Canal. Gibbs decided that the time had come to move the more than 900 families who lived in the area away from Love Canal.

Ultimately President Carder provided the money to move the families. The parent business of Hooker Chemical was sued. They located for million.

Then, about twenty years later, some of the Love Canal houses started to show up in the housing market. Most of the homes are now for sale. But even though the neighborhood was renamed, the homes have such a bad prestige that the banks are refusing to offer mortgages on them.

What may be even sadder is the fact that not one of the chemicals has been removed from the dump. Instead, the site has been resealed. An added 0 million was paid by Hooker's mom business to finance the "cleanup" and they are now responsible for managing the dumpsite.

The area colse to the site has since been declared safe.

Eating Local yield to Save Money and the Environment

With environmental concerns constantly mounting, campaigners are calling on the public to make more and more changes to their lifestyle.

One recommendation is to buy locally produced food. Shipping fruit, vegetables or meat from varied corners of the world adds air miles to your conscience and digits to your bill.

News From Maldives

To highlight this issue, Scottish journalist Stephen Jardine has this year begun a campaign promoting local food, called Eating for Scotland. On a holiday in France, he was dismayed to see Scottish seafood being delivered on the continent whilst back home he found it difficult to find fish or meat from his own country in supermarkets.

Because of this, he set about using his high profile in the media to encourage population to join him in a crusade to eat only food produced in Scotland from Burns Night (25 January) to St Andrew's Day (30 November). Jardine in case, granted regular updates in a national newspaper column and appearances on Scottish Television's topical magazine programme, 'The Five Thirty Show'. Scottish First minister Alex Salmond and Secretary of Rural Affairs and Environment Richard Lochhead have given their sustain to the campaign and both joined in the diet for a short time.

Having a locally produced diet need not be more expensive. Farmers' markets and farm shops allow population to sell the yield they grow and with minute or no delivery expenses, and with no middlemen seeing for a share of the profits, prices can often be lower. Some farms also run what they call 'box schemes' where they will furnish a box full of seasonal goods and deliver it to your home on a regular basis.

Another bonus of shopping with smaller businesses - particularly family run fellowships - is that they often have friendlier staff and workers. They appreciate how foremost their customers are and often furnish a more helpful service while seeing to please you as best they can. Large corporations employ workers with no other link to the enterprise and whilst they employ truly good workers few will possess the same level of love for their job as man who has started their own business, or man who works for a enterprise that has been in their family for generations.

Nowadays, most businesses, even the smaller ones, now have websites and doing a local search online is a great way to find nearby places to buy food. It will also help give you a feel of the enterprise before you agree to anything and you can see what services they offer, and maybe even what crops they sell.

There are of procedure drawbacks to eating only local produce. Jardine says that his love of bananas has at times tested his rule but so far he is yet to crack. His crusade of a Scottish banana plantation continues in vain.

From Recycling Bags to Tree Planting - 10 Great Ways to Help the Environment

By now, we all know the significance of helping the environment and protecting our planet. Here are 10 easy to do steps that could have a positive impact for future generations.

1. We'll start with an easy one - switching off appliances when we're not using them. From your Tv to your toaster, this could help sell out the vigor your home uses.

News From Maldives

2. You can also help by not letting the water run when brushing your teeth. Fill a cup and use that to rinse, or just run the tap when you use the water.

3. Someone else great way to sell out the number of water you use is to avoid overfilling the bath.

4. It's a good idea to create a recycling plan for your home and workplace. By taking charge, you can bring about positive changes, such as using recycling bags or the acceptable council bins.

5. If there's a walkable journey, make sure you walk it. Avoid taking unnecessary car journeys, such as driving the kids to school, when you can walk it in a cheap time.

6. Reconsider using public transport to get to and from work. Not only will you save yourself money, but it will also help sell out the number of vehicles on the road.

7. Maybe the easiest way to do your bit is to close fridge door when you taken something out of it, rather than leaving it open while you use the item. When a fridge door is opened for a while, it it starts to warm up inside. It then uses vigor trying to re-establish its temperature when the door's shut.

8. One way to do your bit is to plant a tree. We all use paper products from time to time and while many of the associates behind them have taken on the accountability of replacing the trees they use, we can also help out by planting one, too.

9. Don't throw out your old clothes, give them to a charity shop or hand them down to others. By getting more use out of products, there will be less waste.

10. Energy-saving light bulbs should be installed in offices and homes to help cut down the unnecessary levels of vigor that are used by quarterly ones.

From recycling bags to light-bulbs, it's vital that each and every one of use does something to help the environment and planet. And why stop with these 10 suggestions? You may want to use a compostable paper sack or reusable transit covers to go one step added with your recycling.

containers Inventions That Save Lives

I just returned from speaking at an invention show on how to package your invention to sell. I saw a lot of great, innovative products that had a lot of merit. Some of them could become the next, new, "hot" buyer product. However, what struck me the most was that every person focused on what they were developing not either it would appeal to the consumer. They seemed to even ignore a buyer need for their product.

I watched American creator while I was in away and that same judgment was reinforced. Population invented things that had in fact no store potential whatsoever. Not matter how clever, catchy or innovative the containers might be to lure the buyer into the purchase, it can't save these inventions from an unmitigated disaster.

News From Maldives

It got me to thinking about unfulfilled or unmet needs of the consumer. These are needs that we all face -- either we know it or not. How does the package play a role in satisfying a buyer need or creating buyer satisfaction?

Look at the growth of the ready or ready to eat market. All these new food products have been developed because the containers allows the goods to be created. Without the package, the goods couldn't even exist. The consumer's lack of time is a major unfulfilled need and buyer goods fellowships are creating products that address that demand

Take an everyday item such toothpaste. Where would we be without the package? Consumers never even think about why that goods package was created and how it works to contain and dispense the goods while retention it sanitary. The toothpaste tube fulfilled a need.

The next great wave of containers innovation/inventions will come from problems not yet resolved or ones that haven't hit the buyer awareness button. Be aware of issues such as security and integrity of the products we buy and consume. Look at all the modern flourish of goods recalls and contamination issues: pet food, peanut butter, coarse everyday items that could kill you or your pet. Are consumers getting worried and paying attention? You bet! Just from the pet food issue alone there has been a slow down of pet food sales and an onslaught of Population making homemade pet food.

Getting back to toothpaste, have you read about the Chinese counterfeit toothpaste that is here in the Us? It's quite definite (according to what I saw in the news) that by seeing at the containers (misspellings and so on) that it's not a legitimate goods (that is only definite if you read the package, of course). The warning signals are there for the buyer to see. But what if the containers looks general and the goods inside is contaminated? In the next wave of innovation, the package may tell us if the goods is bad, contaminated or counterfeit. Seriously, the package may talk, change colors, or do a myriad of other things to clue the buyer to be wary.

A containers company just sent me this incredible statistic. "Product tampering at the retail level is growing at more than 13 percent each year." That's scary. So, what is your containers innovation that could nip that in the bud or prove that the goods had been tampered with before the buyer purchased it? That is a huge an unmet need. It is an foremost one because most consumers don't identify until it's too late. Remember the Tylenol poisonings? That created havoc, after the fact. It created a whole new type of goods containers "tamper-evident."

So think about time to come buyer issues. goods security is going to continue to grow. We have just seen the beginning of the consumer's awareness to it. Can you create a containers innovation that will inspire trust and create peace of mind? Think about the untapped store potential and occasion for the next containers invention that can save lives.

atmosphere change in the Maldives

Climate change has recently become an increasingly necessary issue among both the citizen of Maldives and the international community concerned with the fact that the Maldives will be one of the first nations severely affected by the phenomenon. These concerns led to change of climate being addressed recently in a meeting held between the leader of Maldives, President Mohamed Nasheed, and the Indian Prime Minister's special Envoy on climate Change, Mr. Shyam Saran.

How is the change of climate affecting the Maldives
The Maldives, an island country made up of atolls comprising a total of 1,192 islands, is known for being the lowest country in the world, where the highest land is only 2.3 m (71/2 ft) above sea level, and the national mean is just 1.5 m above sea level. Over the last century, global sea levels have risen about 20 centimetres (8 in) because of climate change and added rises of the ocean are predicted, which could seriously threaten the existence of Maldives. In November 2008, President Mohamed Nasheed expressed his concerns about global warming and the possibility of many of the islands being inundated with water from rising sea levels.

News From Maldives

India also affected by climate change
Noting not only that the fate of both the Maldives and India are linked to change of climate, but also that any drastic change threatens the survival of millions of citizen living in the coastal areas of said countries, both President Nasheed and special Envoy Mr. Shyam Saran agreed that both Maldives and India could work together in combating climate change.

Change of climate Policies
Presenting some of the Indian government's policies on environment and climate change, the President was encouraged by their efforts and added stressed the importance of cooperation and withhold between both countries in working against the threats of climate change. President Nasheed also praised the Indian government's policies to withhold new technological advancements in the field of renewable energy, believing that India and Indian clubs could be a leader in the field of renewable vigor and environment-friendly technologies.

Adaptation was also a topic dwelled upon by the President and the special envoy, and they discussed that the aim adaptation should be to find ways of achieving best standards of living straight through sustainable development. Praising the Maldives and its policies on adaptation, both parties found that both countries possessed similar policies on the subject. As a final note, special Envoy Saran added that India was prepared to share its new environmentally-friendly and renewable vigor technologies with the Maldives.

The meeting was as a matter of fact a fruitful one, and it ended with discussions of how to added strengthen the relations between the Maldives and India, and agreeing on a policy of helping each other in the fight against climate change.

Storm Drain Seal Covers - An Easy explication to safe the Environment From Storm Water and Spills

Storm water can be a serious threat to the environment. That's especially the case if the water is draining from areas like parking lots, car fix shops, or any type of market facility, where hydrocarbons, oils, or chemicals might have leaked and are sitting on the ground. During a storm, oily and chemical residues will be swept up in the run-off, which then drains into the ground water - Unless something is done to preclude that from happening.

And what can be done to keep the groundwater safe? The storm drains in the principal areas can be covered. And now, a new generation of storm drain seal covers make that task very easy and economical.

News From Maldives

A new generation of storm drain seal covers:

For example, there's the new Drain Cover Seal & Spill Stopper and Blocker Ii, which has a feature that makes it even more versatile and easier to apply than the quarterly kind: It's reversible.

These covers are made out of tough and tacky polyurethane without any fillers whatsoever. It's the fact that they're tacky on both sides that makes them reversible - and with that they can generate a durable seal no matter which side you're using.

Easy to keep handy:

They're also much lighter in weight than original products, so you can keep them handy and use them at a moment's observation in the event of chemical spill emergencies.

Can be reused:

But their beneficial life doesn't end with one use. After washing them and replacing the plastic film they originally came with, you can roll them on the tube and put them right back into their original container. And with that, they will be ready for action when another spill should occur.

Resistant to chemicals:

Rubbers and plastics can disintegrate when they come into touch with unavoidable chemicals. Polyurethane is unyielding to a much wider range of chemicals, solvents, and oils. That makes seal covers made out of polyurethane the ideal solution for protecting the environment from solvents, oils and chemicals.

Drain cover seal protectors are also ready in a range of sizes, from 18 inches all the way to 48 inches, to furnish customized security for any size drain covers. They are ready in round as well as in quadrate versions. In addition, customized seal protectors are also available.

How large should storm drain seal covers be? A good rule of thumb: Seals should be 6" larger than the drains they are designed to cover. So do a exiguous study and tally up the sizes you'll need to be prepared.

Pangolins: The Scaly Anteaters

Pangolins are also known as scaly ant eaters. They are the members of Class Mammalia and order Pholidota. They share the house Manidae with only one genus Manis and 8 species. A whole of species of pangolins have come to be extinct today. The body of pangolins is covered by scales made of keratin and they are the only mammals to show this feature. They are distributed in the tropical regions of Africa and Asia. The name pangolin has been derived from a Malay word pengguling meaning something that rolls up. They are nocturnal animals which use their well industrialized sense of small to capture insects. The long-tailed pangolin is also active during the day time. They spend most of their time in the day by sleeping and remain curled up in the form of a ball.

Earlier they were kept together with the anteaters, sloths and the armadillos as they show features similar with them also in the order Xenarthra. But the fossil studies indicate that they are close relatives of order Carnivora. The physical appearance of pangolins is marked by the presence of large, hardened plate like-scales over their bodies. The scales in the juveniles are soft but they come to be hardened as the animal matures. Scales are made up of keratin. The nails as well as the claws of the tetrapod vertebrates are also made up of keratin. They are also compared with the walking pine cone. When disturbed they have the property to curl in the form of a ball and the scales act as bony armour and the face gets tucked up under the tail. Scales are sharp like a razor and furnish extra security serving as organs of offence and defence. The front claws are very long and are not convenient for walking so the animal uses fore-paws which are also curled inside while walking. They also secrete a noxious smelling acid from the glands situated near anus similar to the spray of skunk. The legs are short and are provided with sharp claws which are used for burrowing into the mounds of ants and termites as well as for climbing.

News From Maldives

The body length may part from 30-100 cm and the females are smaller than males. The tongue is very elongated and extends into the abdominal cavity. Due to convergent evolution the tongue is not attached to the hyoid bone. Larger species can expand their tongues as much as 40 cm with a diameter of only 0.5 cm. The section of brain that is connected to the capability of solving problem is very developed. Arboreal species live in hollow trees while the ground dwelling species dig tunnels private up to the depth of 3.5 m. They are also good swimmers. They lack teeth so unable to chew their food. The open the mounds of termite and ants with their front claws and then insert their long sticky tongues in them. The tongue is always moistened with saliva which helps in swallowing as well. Tree pangolins have strong nails to hang from the trees.

Gestation period is of 120-150 days. African females give birth to a single offspring at a time while Asian females can give birth up to three young ones. The weight of the young one may range from 80-450 g with soft scales over the body which becomes hard later on. The young one clings to the tail of the mom for about 2-4 weeks. Weaning may continue for about three months and they attain sexual maturity in two years. They are hunted in many parts of Africa and are popular as bush meat. They are also in great examine in China as their meat forms a very popular delicacy for the Chinese people. Chinese believe that the scales of pangolins cut swelling, promote blood circulation and heighten milk production in the breast of the feeding mothers. Deforestation is also responsible for their population declination. By the end of July 2010, about 1,800 kg of pangolin scales were exported.

They are at the risk of entering the category of endangered.

The Flooding in Australia

The news continues to come in. Flood ravaged parts of Australia. It is awful! I am so grateful to be both miles from the worst area and safe on very high ground, here in the little town of Mullumbimby, New South Wales. My heart goes out to those effected.

What can one say to ease their pain and their loss? Thank goodness the Au government is doing their very best at rescue and intervention, but the grief, the shock, the great losses remain and will have to be faced for a long time to come.

News From Maldives

When I look straight through energetic eyes, I see the planet doing what planets do, shrugging, shaking, and responding energetically to all she has experienced over time. She is attempting to come to balance. Sadly, some of those attempts turn into flash floods, unseasonable rain, and overflowing rivers. Some of these anomalous weather conditions sweep away houses and leave death and mayhem behind. From a personality perspective, I weep for those involved. From the energetic perspective, I understand and I accept what is unfolding.

We are in the midst of a very intense duration of transition and adjustment at every level of reality, from our governmental and fiscal systems to our natural ecological ones. A new equilibrium must be achieved and will, in time, be attained. In the meantime, we can only pray that the changes will be gentle, that as few beings as inherent will be harmed or lost, and that equilibrium will be achieved sooner rather than later. The more balanced, energetically, each of us can remain, as we move straight through our lives, even as we face unimaginable challenges, the more speedily and gradually the shift will occur. For when our human energies are wild, chaotic and inharmonious, then nature reflects those energies and terrible devastation occurs. We have not been good to the planet; we have abused and overused her gifts and now we are paying the price.

Let us commit ourselves to a clear attitude and balanced energetic state of being, no matter what the circumstances and to focusing on what nothing else but matters. We can then come to be part of an ever growing force attracting harmony and balance. Let us reconsider how we can hold the planet and all her beings in our loving embrace, as the winds and waters of change nothing else but and figuratively sweep our houses clean.

Canvas Bags - Do Your Part For the Environment

The affects of global warming are being felt everywhere from the North Pole to Australia the speed of change is alarming scientists. The problem is only going to get worse with developing countries like China and India set to produce more and more Co2 gases. Believe it or not we all can do our diminutive part in protecting the environment by naturally changing a few of our habits. By development the switch from plastic and paper bags to canvas bags we can all save millions of trees from being cut down each year. Plastic shopping bags are just as worse they're made out of a byproduct of petroleum which is used in so many of our products we use today. The problem with petroleum based products is that when it's converted into products like plastic bags and packaging they never break-down leaving behind a mess in our landfills and waterways. If we are serious about recovery our forests from deforestation and recovery the planet we have to make the switch from paper bags to canvas bags.

Canvas bags are a great alternate to the suitable shopping bag as the statistics relating to the consumption of shopping bags is staggering. Each year American's on mean use about 10 billion paper grocery bags which equates to around 14 million trees that are cut down. The estimate of plastic bags we use each year is even higher as most market offer us a plastic bag for the smallest of purchases. The great thing about canvas bags is that they're more durable than the plastic shopping bag. You can fit a lot more groceries into a canvas bag as opposed to a plastic bag which you need to duplicate bag for heavier items.

News From Maldives

Many people including myself all the time understanding using paper was good than plastic bags but paper in some ways is even worse than plastic. From an power perspective the typical canvas bags uses 14 times less power than plastic bags and 39 times less power than paper bags these figures are based on the canvas bag development 500 trips. Five hundred trips would be a modest shape because the mean life span of canvas bags is around a year and half. Plastic and paper bags are able to be recycled but the power costs are highly high. It takes a lot of needful power to turn these products into other reusable products. At the end of the day canvas bags are a smarter greener selection and we should all be using them.

The Bald Eagle Defies Extinction

Many Americans feared the extinction of their national symbol, but the bald eagle has been slowing growing in numbers and largely recovered from its earlier decline. The bald eagle was found to be endangered in 1940 and a law was passed, the Bald and Golden Eagle safety Act, to protect it from hunting. Once the threat from hunting was gone, the species found its numbers declining added by the ingestion of Ddt. In 1963 the numbers of breeding pairs was only 417, important to the 1973 inclusion in the list of endangered species.

Instead of the thinkable, extinction of the species, the bald eagle has executed a miraculous rise in the whole of breeding pairs. Today the whole of bald eagle breeding pairs is approximately 10,000 and it is no longer listed on the endangered species list. The birds will not be abandoned by wildlife experts, however. The bald eagle's numbers will be monitored for a few years to make sure they do not begin to decline again. If the monitoring shows a decline in the whole of breeding pairs, experts can then move to get the bird back onto the endangered species list.

News From Maldives

There are legal protections for the bald eagle even without the endangered species list, such as the Bald and Golden Eagle safety Act. There is also safety afforded to the eagles from an act passed in 1918- the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. This treaty ensured that not only were migratory birds protected in the United States, but from hunting and trade in any other countries as well. This act provides safety in Canada and Mexico for the eagles that migrate over the border and makes it illegal for their nest and eggs, and even their feathers, to be bought or sold.

Bald eagles have added benefited from the Ddt ban of 1972. The toxic chemical penetrated the whole food chain, resulting in the deaths of eagles as well as many other bird species. This pesticide spread from fields to waterways and then to eagles. When the eagles caught fish from these lakes and streams, the fish had already been contaminated. Ddt kept bald eagles from being able to originate eggshells with sufficient calcium to keep them strong sufficient to withhold the embryos. Ddt devastated the bald eagle population, as mother eagles were unable to incubate the thin eggs, often cracking them in the nest. With Ddt now gone, the whole of bald eagles can continue to grow.

How to Make Biodiesel From Algae

While awareness of biodiesel and running diesel engines on vegetable oil is growing, you still have to get the oil from somewhere. The conventional choice is to buy vegetable oil, or take used vegetable oil from a restaurant. However, there is someone else possibility: produce your own oil, with algae.

Algae

News From Maldives

Algae are a form of "simple," photosynthetic, and aquatic organisms. The most complicated forms of algae are ordinarily called "seaweed," though algae range in size and complexity from unicellular forms to this more advanced form. They are called "simple" because they lack many complicated features found in land plants. The most beneficial feature of algae for our purposes is that algae produce necessary quantities of natural oils. In fact, there are estimates that the yield from algae can be 200 times greater than that from a comparable area of other sources of conventional vegetable oils.

Algal Oils

Oil from algae is quite similar to oils produced by conventional oil crops and oilseeds. Chemists ordinarily do not speak of oil, which is a tasteless word for a vaguely defined group of chemicals. Biological "oils," or lipids, are chemicals called triglycerides, composed of a central glycerol unit with three fatty acids attached. Chemically, biological lipids are similar to petroleum to the extent that both groups of chemicals are based on carbon and hydrogen.

The main question with using biological lipids as fuels is the fact that lipids are much more viscous (or defiant to "flowing," in layman's terms) than the refined petrochemicals which make up gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, and other petroleum-based fuels. As a result, unrefined lipids will not be completely burned off in an engine, and leftover product which did not burn can regain in the engine.

Biodiesel from Algae Oil

The process of manufacture biodiesel from oil is all about lowering the viscosity of oil by removing the glycerol; the process of converting algal oils is the same as that with any conventional vegetable oils. Chemists refer to this process as "transesterification," which in the case of biodiesel means splitting the triglycerides, separating the glycerol, which will settle, and converting the fatty acids into a solution of methyl esters, called biodiesel. This is done by mixing the biological oil with sodium methoxide.

Cultivating Algae

Algae can be cultivated at home using a gadget known as a "photobioreactor," or a bioreactor which includes a source of light. A basic reactor can be made from clear plastic tubes or plastic bottles or a plastic holder of some sort. Algae need water, carbon dioxide, and light to grow; the reactor will comprise water into which has been settled a culture of algae. Depending on the type of reactor chosen, algae can be cultivated continuously or in batches. The light source can be an Led, a phosphorescent bulb, or natural sunlight.

Getting Oil from the Algae

The manufacture of biodiesel involves a number of disunion processes, even more so in the case of biodiesel from algae: separating the algae from the solution, separating the oil from the algae, and separating the glycerol from the biodiesel after the reaction is complete. All of these disunion processes can be done simply with a centrifuge.

Conclusions

While even biodiesel isn't quite a free lunch, getting biodiesel from algae can bring you one step closer. The product you get from algae-produced biodiesel is equivalent to that you get from other oils and the conversion of algal oil is the same as the conversion of any other oil; the algae are simply a renewable source of oil. Algae are quite safe, being ordinarily used in commercial products including food.

Drinking Water containers - Why Plastic Bottles Have Got to Go!

The late, great comedian, George Carlin, used to do a comedy bit about how he saw people, anywhere he turned, carrying a water bottle. He punctuated this hilarious habit with an exasperated question: "Just when did everybody get so thirsty?" As funny as this was, his keen notice about the increase of population carrying their own drinking water packaging points to a more serious problem: plastic water bottles have become one of the biggest sources of pollution in the U.S. Plastic bottles have got to go!

In new years bottled water has become one of the giants of the beverage industry. As Americans continue to request clean drinking water, this business has gone full-throttle to ensure that each and every man is able to have their own drinking water container, when and where they want it. Unfortunately, "full-throttle" means that over 60,000,000 plastic bottles are produced, movable and disposed of Every Day in the U.S. Alone!

News From Maldives

Don't get me wrong. I like having the convenience of drinking clean water from my own drinking water container. However, there is no evidence that bottled water is any cleaner than most tap water. The government doesn't even require bottled water be any safer or purer than tap water. So what you're buying (and I've been guilty of it too) is a slick advertising belief that makes it seem as if this bottled water just bubbled up from a mountain spring. And then you're stuck with having to dispose of this polluting plastic.

So does this mean that personal drinking water packaging are a bad idea? indeed not! You can still drink clean, filtered water conveniently from your own personal drinking water container. All you have to do is use drinking water packaging that have been designed to be used over and over again. The best reusable packaging are made from glass.

Besides being 100% recyclable, glass packaging have other advantages. Glass preserves the taste and clarity N Ѵਹ of filtered water. Water stored in plastic bottles risks becoming contaminated from plastic byproducts, like Bpa and phthalate. As these substances leach from the plastic, the water loses its taste and purity. Glass doesn't have this problem.

And let's not forget that refilling and reusing these drinking water packaging is going to mean more money in your pocket. If you are buying bottled water on a quarterly basis, it can get expensive.

There is also a psychological benefit to using glass drinking water containers When you're thirsty and seeing in the fridge for something good to drink, and you spot a crystal-clear, cold glass holder of water, you're going to instinctively reach for it. Drinking more clean, healthy water is one of the best ways to promote good health.

These non-polluting, drinking water packaging are facilely available from most reputable water filtration principles providers. You can find these providers, like I did, with just some simple research. When you're drinking filtered water, conveniently, from your own reusable drinking water holder you will be doing yourself and our planet a big favor.

How to Keep the World Clean

With things like global warming advent into question, habitancy colse to the world are no ifs ands or buts more worried about the future. However, what most of them do not comprehend is that their choices help or hinder the fight for the future. Some habitancy select to buy canoe accessories and kayak rigging in order to protect the environment from unnecessary motor boating but helping the environment can be a lot easier than that. There are millions of little things that every person can do that will help the environment immensely.

One way to help the environment is to recycle your plastics, paper and glass. This is something that every person can do because recycling bins are free and they are picked up by government garbage companies. Call your local trash town and ask for them to drop off a recycling bin at your house. Then all you have to do is go through the things that you throw away every day and settle if they are trash or recyclables. This is fairly easy to do because most items now have a recycling label that tells you if they can be recycled or not. Spread the word to your friends and extended family and get every person you know to recycle. One someone is great, but having an whole neighborhood or even an whole city dedicated to recycling would be amazing.

News From Maldives

Another way to convert the environment for the better is to voyage in ways other than car. There are fullness of ways to do this such as riding a bike, taking the bus, or walking to wherever you need to go. The bus limits the amount of carbon dioxide (the whole intuit you should use your car the least amount) to one vehicle for many habitancy rather than a bunch of vehicles for the same amount of people. Likewise, riding your bike or walking gets ride of call carbon dioxide and is by far the best for the environment.

Lastly, you can protect the environment by joining assorted government agencies colse to the country and working for them. This is the most dedicated of all ideas and takes the most time and energy. By being on a committee that is in payment of protecting the environment, you can enact a bunch of changes that will help preclude climate destruction today and tomorrow. These committees are primary to the continuation of the world because they provide the latest and best ideas on how to keep the world safe.

In the end, keeping the environment safe and clean is not an option, it is an obligation. habitancy in any place need to do their part to keep the world at its best so that we can enjoy living here for years to come. If we keep going at the rate we are, the world is not going to last long at all and we will have no where to live. These little ideas and changes are easy to accomplish but their results will provide the earth with years and years to continue.

Dealing With the Potentially Devastating Effects of Water Pollution

Have you ever concept about what you're easily doing when you run that chemical bathtub cleaner down your drain? It seems harmless, doesn't it. Yet, the far-reaching effects of that one small action, when coupled with the similar actions of millions of other habitancy worldwide, can help generate water pollution that even the newest technology won't be able to clean fast or wholly enough to furnish all the clean water for drinking and sanitation that we all need. Maybe these facts would hit home more effortlessly if habitancy realized what the effects of pollution easily are.

Of course, not all water pollution can be blamed on you and me. Agriculture and business both lead heavily to the problem, even with the tightening of regulations that many governments have enacted. For example, rain picks up silt and debris and washes it into rivers, lakes, and streams. If the silt is filled with farm chemicals, such as pesticides and fertilizers, all of that can be washed into our water sources and taken downstream where it poisons or smothers fish and water animals. Not only aquatic lifeforms are effected, either. Other birds and animals, together with humans, drink from the contaminated waters and get sick and die, too.

News From Maldives

It's easy to see how water pollution affects those who live in countries where there isn't enough clean water. Waterborne diseases are rampant, because parasites, bacteria, and other microorganisms which cause diseases are transmitted straight through the water habitancy finally drink, cook with, and bath in. This is particularly true of water resources that have been contaminated via the pathogens that are present in materials excreted by humans and animals.

Some of these diseases contain typhoid, hookworm, cholera, cancer, and diarrhea, and pollutants also cause irreparable damage to the liver, kidneys and heart, lead to blood disorders, and cause problems with the nervous system. Of course, many of these illnesses and disorders can lead to death.

The United States is not exempt from these problems. For example, the Gulf of Mexico and Boston Harbor are both so full of pollution that it will cost taxpayers millions, and even billions, of dollars to attempt a clean-up. If enough of the water in the world becomes polluted, we could be faced with water shortages all over the planet. Obviously, the best solution to curb the effects of water pollution is for every person to come to be aware of the problem and take steps now to stop polluting our water.

Global atmosphere Change, the Bible, And Science - A Book reveal

According to daily news reports, earth is suffering from severe global warming problems. The oceans are going to rise about 26 inches over the next century, our coastal areas, including many large cities, will be flooded, and new beaches will form many miles inland from their current locations. Every new weather event is blamed on global warming. Modern hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions -- you name it -- they are the ensue of global warming. As a result, the Us consummate Court in 2007 [Justice Stevens, "Massachusetts v Epa," Us consummate Court, No. 05-1120, 2 Apr 2007, belief of the Court; and Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Scalia, "Massachusetts v Epa," Us consummate Court, No. 05-1120, 2 Apr 2007, Dissenting Opinions], declared carbon dioxide a pollutant gas that can be regulated by the Epa.

But also, this summer, we learned that the previous Director of the University of East Anglia's climate explore Unit (whose data started this whole global warming band wagon) admitted that there has been no "statistically significant" global warming over the last 15 years (from 1995-2010) [Petre, Jonathan, Uk Daily Mail: "Climategate U-turn as Scientist at Centre of Row Admits: There has Been No Global Warming Since 1995," 11 Aug 2010]. In light of this revelation, the medicinal actions taken by our consummate Court and all the dire calls for immediate activity appear to be a wee bit premature.

News From Maldives

This book represents the author's entry into the global warming debate. As a Christian, the author's first inquire was: What does the Bible have to say about global warming? His own initial inclination was to respond that it has nothing to say about the subject. But then, he embarked on a study to learn if and what the Bible says about it. Turns out, the Bible has quite a lot to say on the subject. In expanding to the fact that the Bible says God created the heavens and the earth, the Bible teaches that God maintains the daily workings of the earth, "by Him all things consist," and finally, it says that God controls the wind and the rain. This final point directly impacts global warming issues. Operate of the wind and the rain equates to Operate of all storm systems and sunny days, and more specifically, the weather and the climate! Three chapters in the book cover these three points.

The author devoted one episode to think process Operate systems, which are needed by those who are attempting to originate climate convert computer models. The earth's weather systems appear to be self-regulating. We don't need to understand the details of self-regulating systems for them to function properly. They do it all by themselves -- hence the name. To model self-regulating systems in a computer, however, we need to know the spoton details and the interactions between their discrete phenomena. We can't model weather or climate without insight how all of the phenomena interact. Then, to make a valid computer model, we must accurately duplicate the interrelationships between all of the discrete phenomena that work simply in the real world. Sunlight, cloud cover, temperatures, winds, water vapor and water sources, etc., must all be taken into account and the modelers must properly simulate how they all interact with each other. Process Operate engineers must set thorough gain values into their controllers for permissible self-operating principles controls. There is no need to shape out any gains when a principles is self-regulating. It simply, and automatically, takes care of and regulates itself. But modelers must properly assess all gains that Operate the interactions between the climate variables in their simulation models.

The author devotes another episode to the notice of computer models. As a computer modeler himself, the author knows the discrete pitfalls that can preclude the amelioration of thriving models. Computer models are uncomplicated representations of real phenomena. Sometimes, they are too simple. Sometimes the required mathematics are involved and large involved computer programs and long computing times define a model. Sometimes the required math is beyond the capabilities of the modelers so some desired phenomena cannot be included in the model. Sometimes, wrong assumptions are made when trying to understand and model involved phenomena. Sometimes important phenomena are missed in a computer model because the modelers didn't comprehend they were important. Etc. All sorts of pitfalls can hinder the success of computer models.

Part of the author's teaching responsibilities, in expanding to teaching process Operate courses, was to teach commercial fuels and combustion systems. His first job in commerce was as a combustion engineer, and he has spent more than twenty years teaching engineering students and graduate process engineers how to Operate commercial fuels and burners, as well as how to accomplish all principal calculations. For example, the author spent a lot of time teaching students how to guess air and flue gas compositions, flame temperatures, and heat contents. The most important phenomenon from that branch that deals with climate issues is known as the "latent heat of vaporization" of liquid water as it vaporizes to form water vapor. The "latent heat" (for short) soaks up astronomical amounts of heat in the process of vaporizing water. It is the biggest absorber of solar power on the earth because the earth's covering is covered with an approximately endless supply of liquid water. It takes much more heat to vaporize an endless supply of water than it does to heat the 0.04% of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The greenhouse gas that has the most ensue on atmospheric air temperatures is water vapor. But we can do nothing about water vapor. Water is out there in abundant supply all over the earth and it vaporizes and condenses agreeing to temperatures and ready sunlight at the earth's covering and in the atmosphere. Sample calculations in the book show the magnitude of heat that can be absorbed by water, compared with the number of heat that can be absorbed by the tiny ration of carbon dioxide in the air.

Another episode in the book considers some of the natural cycles that surround us --that we also take for granted. The most important of these is the oxygen/carbon dioxide cycle. Humans and animals inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. Plants use carbon dioxide during photosynthesis and give off oxygen as a byproduct. As the human habitancy has grown to astronomical numbers, the plant habitancy has kept pace to enunciate the natural balance. More carbon dioxide enhances the growth of plants. Less carbon dioxide hinders plant growth. agreeing to evolutionary theories, the earth has been here for millions of years, and this equilibrium has been maintained all this while. But now, the combustion of fossil fuels (which we believe came from compacted plant life in the first place) is supposedly ruining the planet. Plants are used by humans and animals as a food source, so when slightly higher levels of carbon dioxide and slightly warmer temperatures encourage the speed of growth of plants, that seems to be a good thing. Having conditions that improve the growth of plants, including fruits, vegetables, and grains, means that we will continue to have enough food supplies even while populations continue to grow. But when carbon dioxide is determined to be a pollutant gas and attempts are being made to sequester it from commercial waste gas streams (and convert it from a form that can partake in this natural balance, to an inorganic form that cannot), the intelligentsia want to force us to make changes that will sway this natural cycle and potentially alter the success of our food supplies (by reducing atmospheric carbon dioxide.) Why? Because of a bogus problem that they cooked up -- called global warming.

Another episode discusses ramifications of the Copernican Principle, which was understood by the church to be a hint that the earth and mankind are not important -- they do not reside at the center of the universe. Copernicus died before the church could come down on him for his hint that the sun, not the earth, lies at the center of our solar system. But Galileo, who observed with his telescopes the accuracy of Copernicus' statement, was declared a heretic by the church. Fast send to today, and one realizes that all things is reversed. Political correctness agrees with the church's insight of Copernicus' statement --but they like it. They understand it to say, "We're not special." [Gonzalez, Guillermo, and Richards, Jay W., The Privileged Planet, 2004, Regnery Publishing, Inc., Washington, Dc, p.286.] With political correctness agreeing that we're not special, they can truly maintain the "science" of Darwinian evolution, render the creation story to be a fairy tale, and enunciate that mankind is not special -- we all evolved from a glob of snot floating on the ocean -- and that's not special.

Yet another episode is devoted to discussing how interesting Design, Id, impacts this debate. Many who maintain Id are attempting to prove logically, and without any mention of God, that intelligence was required to originate the worlds. In their book, Gonzalez and Richards concluded that earth was designed and located here to facilitate mankind's exploration of the galaxy. But even they steer clear of any mention of God as the designer. In fact, they state that proof of Id and proof of the existence of God are two very distinctly distinct proofs. But the courts and the intelligentsia link Id and creationism. Id is a determined to be a form of creationism and as such, it is a principles and not fact nor science. Why does this matter?

It matters because to those who are trying to build climate convert models that are supposed to predict phenomena a century or more from now, one must assume that all relevant phenomena then will behave as they do today, and as they did always behave -- even eons ago. That requires belief in uniformitarianism which is very closely connected to evolution. In both, all things industrialized moderately over eons of time. All things happened then exactly as they do now and as they always will. So uniformitarian assumptions are required to write computer models that will predict climate a century from now.

Another episode asks the inquire (better late than never) "Is it even inherent to predict climate 10, 50, 100 years from now?" Professor Cotton asked that very inquire recently. His conclusion: No, it is not possible! [Cotton, William R., "Is climate truly predictable on 10-50 year time table?", Colorado State University, 20 Jul 2010, Powerpoint presentation.] Note the date on his presentation: July, 2010. Why wasn't this inquire asked by someone -- Anyone! --at the start of the global warming brouhaha? If it was, its respond was buried or ignored. But like I said, best late than never.

One final point which the author asked is this: If God controls the wind, rain, storms, weather, etc., how can computer models take His Operate into account? When a owner in a yield plant is a loose cannon, changing the plant doing on a daily basis for no apparent reason, he or she must be determined an input variable in the equation used by those whose responsibility it is to Operate that facility. This author has known two such managers and they were totally unpredictable. Go home on a Friday afternoon and all things is working fairly smoothly in the plant. Arrive Monday morning to find that all things has changed. convert orders were issued Saturday or Sunday and all is different. How does one predict that, or even take such actions into account? Then -- and this is the bigger question -- if God is truly in payment of the weather as the Bible says He is, how does whatever account for His Operate in a computer model? After all, the Bible asks, "For who hath known the mind of the Lord?" [Rom 11:34] Mankind truly does not know the Lord's mind! This seems to advise that global climate convert phenomena are unpredictable!

So if God created everything, and God controls and maintains everything, but in particular, God controls the wind and the rain, how can modelers account for His control? They Cannot!

This book addresses the global climate convert turn over from the point of view of an engineering professor who happens to also be a Christian. The "political correctness" crowd doesn't allow arguments of faith (in general), and of Christianity (in particular), to cloud their issues, but in this case, if the Bible is correct, it will Not be inherent for man to predict what will happen to the climate a century from now.

It does Not appear that the intelligentsia truly cares about the oxygen/carbon dioxide balance, or even global warming. It appears they want to use this issue as a smoke screen to accomplish other political goals. And that's bad!

Finally, and most astonishingly, this whole turn over is based on the installation that we have been and are in the throes of catastrophic global warming. But the explore middle point at the center of the global warming turn over has said that we have Not experienced any "statistically significant" global warming during the last 15 years. That means measured temperatures have been chattering up and down over that time period, but the median ensue is a horizontal line -- indicating no climatic characteristic convert at all! So the world is arguing about the consequences of a non-existent earth-shattering problem and our leaders are planning all sorts of desperate and menacing solutions to a non-existent problem! Go figure!

A lot more details of these and other interesting points are given and discussed in this book. Enjoy!
